Happy Easter, watercolor.
Sometimes when a painting isn’t satisfactory, it must be put aside for a while until it can be seen afresh and objectively. Such was the case with this one. Initially the foreground was a disappointment; I’m happier with it now.
Painted to completion. The mural depicts the various activities the center provides along with the wording provided by the director. The boy batting is painted in a hallway to the left and is playing with the two children on the far left of the main mural. Special thanks to the City of Rockmart and the Recreation Department Staff.
Continuing to sketch more figures as I paint.
Commissioned by the City of Rockmart in the Recreation Building, 25′ x 10′, begun January 31st 2023.
#31. Welcoming Committee, plein air in oil.
This characteristically orange Lizella clay comes from a community near Macon, Georgia. Their first postmaster named the area for his two daughters, Lizzie and Ella.
