This papier mache sculpture is part of a life-size nativity. In it, the shepherds are depicted as they might have been when the angels appeared to them. They are huddled together with sheep around them. Some are shielding their eyes. All appear amazed.
The collection was made over a number of years to use on Christmas Parade floats. It is now on permanent display at the Arthur Moore Museum, St Simon’s Island, Georgia, USA.
