Loblolly Pines

This is an hour-long paint condensed into just over a minute. (I’m really not this jumpy!) It was just before sunset, chosen for the low and warm-hued light, which noticeably shifts while I work, requiring me to keep in mind how the best light looked.

#’s 13-14. Loblolly Pines, 9″ x 12″, in oil, available on the Olmsted Plein Air Invitational, Atlanta, 2025, website. (To visit the Olmsted website, please click here.)

Eatonton Paint Out

Towers-Over-Eatonton,-Susan-Duke-Waters

#30. “Towers Over Eatonton”, painted on location during the Eatonton Plein Air timed Paint Out, First Place. (Please note the interesting shadows cast by the cropped-out frame, warm on the left and cool across the top … contrasting light sources; illustrates the difference a light source makes.)
